Musical Saw Festival

Matt Schickele's Air for Saw And Cello will be premiered at the 2008 NYC Musical Saw Festival. Philippa Thompson, saw; Rose Bellini, cello. The festival starts at 2pm with a concert of saw music, and then continues into the evening with saw-related activities and workshops.

This will be a concert of Matt Schickele music of different kinds: solo acoustic, chamber works, and a song cycle for three singers. Snug Harbor is one of NYC's little-known gems, with gardens, historical exhibits, and beautiful architecture. And it's very easy to get to! Part of the 5ive Boroughs Music Festival. Directions: Staten Island Ferry meets the S40 bus. Tell the driver "snug harbor." It's about a 7 minute ride. Map here. Note: the 4:30 ferry will not get you there on time.
